Northern Mines Pony Club

(See bottom of the page for Directions)

NMPC is located in the Sierra Foothills, covering the historic Gold Country east of Sacramento, CA.  Our region includes 19 Clubs ranging from Western Nevada to the West Coast, including Shasta ---  Nevada County and part of Placer County.  We are a member of the National Pony Clubs of America, one of over 600 clubs throughout the United States.  Pony Club is an international organization, with representation in over 30 countries.

It is not necessary for a child to own a horse or pony, but they must have access to one when required.  Programs are offered in dressage, eventing, show jumping, mounted games, quiz, polocross and tetrathalon.

During unmounted meetings members learn about feeding, shoeing, veterinary care, and other areas of horse management.  Under adult supervision, the more experienced Pony Club members instruct and assist younger members.

Pony Club Pledge

As a member of the United States Pony Club, I stand for the best in sportsmanship as well as in horsemanship.

I shall compete for the enjoyment of the game well played and take winning or losing in stride, remembering that without good manner and good temper, sport loses its cause for being.

I shall endeavor to maintain the best tradition of the ancient and noble skill of horsemanship, always treating my horse with consideration due a partner.
